Terms of use

The service

OCR-AI ("the service") reads documents and images and returns text, fields and tables that can be exported to Excel, CSV, JSON and plain text. Using the service means you accept these terms and the privacy policy. The operator of the service is called "we" here.

Free use

• Each device can read 5 free pages a day, up to 5 pages from each document. There is also a limit per network.
• The allowance renews at midnight UTC.
• When the site's free capacity for the day runs out, free reading pauses until the next day. You can continue with paid pages.
• We may change the extent of free use or stop it.

Page packs

• A pack is a one-time payment for a number of pages. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
• The price shown before payment is the final price, including VAT where it applies.
• Pages are added to your account once the payment is confirmed. They are valid for 365 days from the last time pages were added to the account (a purchase, or the API's free start), and each such addition extends the validity of every page in the account.
• With paid pages you can read up to 100 pages from each document. Each page read takes one page from the balance.
• A page whose reading failed is returned to the balance automatically. A page read in part is counted, and the result is marked as partial.
• You can open your account on any device with a sign-in link sent to the email you entered at checkout.

The API and MCP

• An API key belongs to the account that created it. Every call made with the key draws on that account's page balance, and the account owner is responsible for keeping the key safe and for revoking a key that leaks.
• A new account gets 100 free pages once, with its first key. A site-wide daily limit applies to free starts.
• Paying through a key's payment link adds pages to that key's account, even when someone else pays. Paying gives the payer no access to the account.
• Do not use the API to get around the limits of the free service, or at a pace that harms the service for others.

Cancellation and refunds

You can ask to cancel a purchase within 14 days of the day of purchase and get a refund for the pages not yet used. Send the request through the contact form, with the email you entered at checkout. The refund is made to the payment method you used.

Your documents

• The documents you upload and the results you get belong to you. We use them only to read them for you, as described in the privacy policy.
• You are responsible for having the right to process the documents you upload.

Acceptable use

You may not:

• Upload unlawful content, or content you have no right to process.
• Get around the usage limits, for example by automation or by switching devices and networks to get more free pages.
• Try to harm, break into or overload the service.
• Sell or pass on access to the service without our written consent.

We may block use that breaks these terms.

Accuracy of results

Automatic reading can be wrong, especially with handwriting, weak photos and complex documents. Values the engine was unsure of are marked for review, but an unmarked value can be wrong too. Check the result against the document before you rely on it, and especially before an accounting, tax or legal decision. The service does not replace an accountant, a tax adviser or a lawyer.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted availability. The service may be down for maintenance or because of a fault. We may change the service's features.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage caused by using the service or by relying on results that were not checked. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Israeli law. The competent courts in Israel have jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we update the date at the top of the page. The change applies to use from that day on. Pages you have already bought keep working under the terms in force on the day of purchase.
